Jefferson Township Community Chorus
|
Formed in April of 2001 by the Jefferson Arts Committee, The Jefferson Township Community Chorus has attracted many township adults, Jefferson Township High School students and alumni to its ranks over the years. The Chorus provides an opportunity to individuals who love to sing, are looking for a venue to sing with others, enjoy the challenge of learning new musical arrangements, and want to entertain the public. Many members belong to church choirs and just want to branch out to more secular music. Those who enjoy singing a variety of musical styles are always welcome to join; and the Chorus is open to high school students through adults; and tenors, basses, sopranos, and altos are welcome. No audition or previous singing experience is required. The Chorus rehearses 10 months out of the year from 7:30 – 9:00 PM in the Music Room at the Jefferson Township Middle School on Tuesdays unless school is closed for any reason. Annual dues of $25 per person, $40 per couple, or $10 per student are collected in order to help cover the salaries of the Director and Assistant Director and the high cost of purchasing quality copyrighted music.
Anyone interested in joining the Chorus can contact Margaret Brandell at 973-697-6659 for more information or e-mail jeffersonartscommittee@hotmail.com.
